JLPT Results
Sorry – this is the closure post to all my JLPT-ness I talked about last year (and many years before too).
The results were finally in on the 2nd and then the foundation suddenly suspended all the accounts from their test scores, and today it is open again :p
So the results were 391 / 400 yay~~ (a passing score)
based on past statistics that will be probably be about the top 0.05% of all overseas Level 1 takers XD
and no.. level 1 isn’t the lowest level, it is actually the highest. :p
So the score breaks down to
Vocab: 99 / 100
Listening : 97 / 100
Reading : 195 / 200
A lot of people asked me why I learned Japanese and what I’m going to use it for.
I learned Japanese because my school required 2 years of foreign language studies to graduate. I thought it was a great opportunity to learn a language I was interested in and that’s how I ended up learning Japanese. Anyway, I took the JLPT as a wrap up trophy?? (or acknowledgment??) for my dedication to learning the language. I do believe that it is going to be great to have additional language skills under my belt, but .. at the moment I don’t really have any plans with my Japanese skills. Any suggestions? 🙂
Anyway, it’s a happy day 😀 At least my parents were really happy about the score :p hehe

omg congratulations!!! and such a high score! I just passed Level 2 with 80%, but u almost have 100%. That's quite smth!!! omedetou!

congrats cat! You're almost perfect! bet you can read Japanese magazines :p hehe~ it's my frustration coz i can't read and understand Japanese language haha~ hope i can someday :p Ki o tsukete 🙂

Congrats! I had always wanted to take up Jap lang, but too much procrestination. Agree with Locke, it helps with reading those magazines so much. My fav is Vivi. 🙂

my hubby (is korean) learned Japanese since he was because since he was 8 he wanted to be in the videogame industry~ so he now is on his tracks to his dreams in a big Japanese company and most of his colleagues speak japanese!
Being trilingual, you can definitely find great positions in foreign MNCs that require your lang skills!

congratulations! you're really gifted in languages~ I guess you can be an interpreter and translate documents from Japanese to English/ Korean. or you can look for jobs in Japan, perhaps? I love learning different langauges. Apart from Chinese, English and French, I also speak some German, Spanish and Japanese.ha ha~ good luck with your studies!

hehe and thank you all >.<) and I don't think one needs that much skills to read a japanese magazine :p I usually look at the pictures and I think they make it totally understandable that way too ~~

i was wanting to learn japanese about a year ago, but when i met my boyfriend who speaks fluent mandarin, i decided i should probably learn how to speak chinese first if anything so i can at least communicate with his family ;p

i think it's kinda challenging & nerve-wrecking sometimes, especially for rush jobs and impossible deadlines lol. If you're interested you can take a look at the American Translators Association's website – you will find some useful info. on how to become a translator and how to get certified etc. 🙂

@mikichan: the official certificates and hard copy scores have been all mailed out ~ you can check your score in your account page at jflalc.org/jlpt/ If you took it outside of the states, you should be able to see your scores at the correlating sites that are affiliated with the Japan Foundation
